I think along with the newcomer column, there should be a column for Charlotte natives and how their lives have changed while growing up in Charlotte.
Do they have chicken bbq's down here? I love bbq chicken dinners with salad, a roll and baked beans..upstate NY style. Does anyone know of any places (churches, clubs and etc.) that do this?
When do the festivals begin? We've in Charlotte a year and loved all the events going on last year but for the life of me cannot remember when they were!
What are some ways that a newcomer can get involved to feel more connected with the community? It can get awfully lonesome out here in the suburbs! Everybody has such busy lives that it doesn't seem to leave much time for socializing. Ideas?
I think they should create a NATIVES blog and column; When I used to see the Charlotte Observer print NATIVES I thought they were being Racsist by saying that word, but they are not. I would say that the NATIVES board would be all whining because I hear them do this all the time; I do believe it is getting worse but we all have to start thinking positive to get rid of the bad parts.
Just moved here a month ago. I loved your Sunday article, which brought me to this blog. This may already be posted, but are there any clubs or groups specifically for newcomers?
