Forbes has released its list of best value cities and worst value cities. Charlotte make the best value list. Click here to read the report, which says a home in New York is "three times less affordable" than in Charlotte, and for list of cities.
I'll get straight to it because as a colleague, just said, pretty soon Forbes is going to put out a lists of top lists and he's getting "weary" of it. It's simple: Agree or disagree that Charlotte is a good value?

Many of the best value cities are in Ohio. Maybe you should go back.
New York is many times more expensive than Charlotte with good reason. New York is the de facto capital of the Western world and Charlotte is an overgrown cow pasture full of hillbillies.
Let's see, in 2007 BET cited the QC as one of the most African-American friendly cities, as large component of which was a low cost of living.
And in 2006 Matthews was #6 in a Business Week list of the best and most affordable burbs, here too cost of living, especially housing cost was cited.
This is all very important because local officials are rapidly spending us into in a high-tax mode while land-use planning us into a high-cost real estate bracket.
So for right now, still a good value, but threatened by wrong-headed policy.

Charlotte's a great city. It seems especially great for New Yorkers who couldn't hack it in New York. Seems like every New Yorker I meet is just DYING to tell you how much better it is there. Airport's thatta way, please take as many of your friends as you can with you.
Long Island is the BEST.
I'm from New York in my opinion just abour everything's better in Charlotte than it is in New York, that's why I moved here.
Charlotte is an overgrown hick town that caters all to much to sports and beer joints at the expense of any real identity. A bunch of superficial, plastic people here. But, I am here in the meantime for a job after 16 years in NY. Were it not for the high cost of real estate in NY, I would have remained there. So, for now, this is ONE good thing about Charlotte but it's hard to find any others in this cultural backwater of a town it is.
Like I said previously, you couldn't hack it in New York, why are you so crazy about a place you didn't have the substance to survive in? So now you're here, and obviously haven't been around much, so you throw a bunch of unsubstantiated barbs to try and mask your own defeat and lonelineness. I meet tons of jerks from NYC just like you, and they're not tough to find, you should just ask around and you guys can muse on how lame it is here and what a shame it is you got kicked out of your beloved hometown.
OHIO is a greater value Ill explain ; I just saw a 2000 square foot all brick with a wodded lot for 125,000 and is now $50,000 because of the drops; Charlotte will start dropping like mad soon and you will able to by a trailer and all the Jacked up cars and washer machines with the deal.
You will get all washing machines , jelopies and water heaters for half price soon in N.C.
Im thinking about ging back to OHIO where you can get UNION wages and not work like a slave ; Charlotte was a hard slave state and they are still trying to do this . Kepp in m ind after the civil war was over CHARLOTTE was still fighting and had to be warned to stop; Thats why they called the tarheels Of course there aint many of them left because of that but still
I went to a SOUTHERN wedding and I was socked ; When the MINISTER said" will the Father of the bride rise and come forth" Five men walked up to the front alter , I was shocked; They the preacher had them go to the back and I heard some loud talk but then they came back out and the preachers face was red as HELLS fire ; Anyway wen it came time for the GROOM to come forth the Preacher said "will the Brides sons father please approach, she was apparently married before, About five fathers came up and I about fainted. Well, I looked over at the Brides side and saw lots of men on her side verses the groom. Later I asked him and he said many of them were her ex-husbands, People I drank a bottle of cutty sark that night .I m not going to no more weddings in this part anyway
Once I went to a Southern girls wedding and apparentley she had bee married five times before ; The preacher knew her by first name and she was a member of that church. She was a looker People and Men fainted when she walked by all the time, she was so geat looking; Well, she was blonde and all the men KNOW watching this board they are in popular demand and get fired and flirted with on all the time , so make sure you have big pockets for this and no short temper. BLONDES do have more fun and get all the fun they want at anytime. I know I came home and found my wife and my best freind in bed asleep . I was suspicious when I saw the bedroom door closed and felt my stomach sink. when I opened the door my best freind said" your wife was afraid of a lighting storm" so he came over and fell asleep next to her " Problem was she was naked and so was he. I gave her a second chance and I then came home and when I knocked on the closed door she said" wait your turn" there was another guy sitting in the den watching a celtics game , drinking my beer. ANYWAY good night folks
